Love and Dedication

Anthony Bernard "Tank" Dunbar Smith, dedicated, and described as bigger than life to many and was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, transitioned from the earthly life on May15th. Born on July 30, 1953, in Rubonia, Florida, he was born to Betty Dunbar and Lewis Smith.

Early Life and Education
Anthony attended Manatee County District Schools including Lincoln Memorial and Palmetto High Schools graduating in 1971. During his high school career, "Tank" had the opportunity to play football on the varsity team as a kicker, and defensive tackle.After high school graduation, he attended Norwalk Community College and South Connecticut State University. After his educational tour, "Tank" played briefly for the Philadelphia Eagles and remained with his current employment for over forty years.

Christian Commitment
Anthony accepted Christ at any early age and attended Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. He was baptized under Reverend F. P. Holloman.

Anthony's Legacy
Anthony leaves behind a wealth of cherished memories. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father Lewis Smith, Deacon LeRoy Mitchell, (stepfather), Jannie Mack (grandmother), Roslyn Priscilla Mitchell (sister), Donald Mitchell (brother), Ray Dunbar (maternal grandfather).

He is survived by his mother: Mrs. Betty Mitchell. His siblings include one sister and three brothers: Luewillard Boykins (Bernis Boykins), Roderick Mitchell (Lori), Ronald Mitchell (Gwen), Craig Mitchell. Nephews: Sean Thomas, Roderick Mitchell, II, Jacob Jenkins, Kaymen Jenkins, Quay Mitchell. Nieces: Monique (Chris Brazzell), Krista Altenbach, Nikki Jenkins, Shennell Mitchell, Janie Mitchell, Shannon Knight (Deshazor Knight), Amira Mitchell, Nicole Rawls (Acquired Lifelong daughter) and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and extended family who will miss him dearly.

May Anthony Bernard "Tank" Dunbar Smith rest in eternal peace, knowing he made the world a better place with his presence and left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
