Applicants Sought for Opening on Bradenton Housing Authority Board

BRADENTON -- The City of Bradenton Housing Authority is accepting applications for an open position to its Board of Commissioners. 
 
The board is an autonomous body whose responsibilities work in tandem with the Bradenton Housing Authority (BHA) administration. The qualifications for Board members include interest in setting policy decisions based on Federal standards, approval of annual and long range fiscal, developmental and community initiatives, etc. 
 
Appointment to the Board of Commissioners is made at the bequest of the Mayor, approved by City of Bradenton City Council and responsible to the residents of BHA programs and communities through Federal mandate. 
 
The length of the term is for a period of four years. The board meets every third Wednesday of the month at BHA offices, 2002 9th Avenue East/Martin Luther King, Jr., Blvd.
 
The Bradenton Housing Authority, an organization established as a result of the Federal Fair Housing Act of 1937, through the Department of Housing and Urban Development, mandate of Florida state law and founded in the City of Bradenton in 1950, advocates for safe, affordable communities through sound policy, fiscal and community responsibility in public housing, subsidy programming and developmental initiatives.
