Posted

Friends of Manatee County Animal Welfare will celebrate their 8th anniversary of fundraising for Manatee County Animal Welfare shelter animals with a Jan. 18 Friendsgiving event that will feature a delectable array of more than 30 gourmet desserts prepared by local, professional bakeries, restaurants, and home bakers that will be available by live and silent auction, along with other exceptional items and experiences.

The event will be held Saturday, Jan. 18, 6:00-10:00 pm at the IMG Academy Golf Club, 4350 El Conquistador Parkway, Bradenton.  The gift baskets in the live and silent auctions include overnight resort stays, gift certificates for area restaurants, exciting excursions, sports adventures, theme park passes, vacation packages, spa services, jewelry, fishing charter, and boating outings, pet-related items, and so much more.

Attendees can also participate in the famous wine lotto, special presentations, and a cash bar. Seating is limited. Tickets are $50, and VIP tables of 8 are available for $800 and include the VIP experience. All tickets include a delicious menu served buffet-style by IMG Chef Rocky Fidelibus. Local celebrity Bob Slicker, owner of Slicker’s Eatery, will be the auctioneer, and emcee Mike Sales will provide live entertainment.

“Friendsgiving is a celebration of all we have accomplished," said board president Kassandra Zess-Pagel. "Without the generosity of the community and funds raised through events like Friendsgiving we would not have been able to save the number of animals we have had over the last eight years. We hope everyone will join us to celebrate this huge milestone and all we have accomplished as a community.”
