Audrey Ruth Lamont, a cherished soul known for her warmth, wit and compassion, was called to her eternal home on January 8, 2026, at the age of 73 after a long battle back from a major stroke this past summer.

Born on February 17, 1952, in Smith Falls, Ontario, Audrey's life was a testament to her unwavering curiosity for life and her dedication to serving others. Her journey on earth came to a peaceful close in Bradenton, Florida, surrounded by the love of her family and devoted friends. Audrey's early years in Canada and Central America instilled in her the values of kindness and community, which she carried throughout her life.

She shared a beautiful and enduring love with her late husband, Allan Lamont, and together they built a legacy of love and adventure. Audrey's heart was ever expansive, encompassing her beloved brother, Gordon Gladden, and cherishing the memory of her late siblings, Lyle Gladden and Carol Mueller. She was a devoted mother to her children, Scott Lamont and Nareda Mills, wife to Patrick Mills, and a doting grandmother to Brendan, Olivia, Spencer, and Elizaveta. Her nurturing spirit extended to her countless nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Audrey's dedication as a Registered Nurse was more than a profession; it was a calling through which she touched countless lives. Her career spanned several esteemed institutions, including Ingersoll Hospital in Ontario, University Hospital in London, Ontario, Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida, and Manatee Memorial in Bradenton. Audrey's colleagues and patients revered her for her courage, her humor, and her friendly demeanor, which brought light and comfort to the darkest of times.

Beyond her professional achievements, Audrey was an incredibly talented quilter and passionate gardener. Her quilts were works of art, lovingly crafted and infused with stories and prayers for those who would receive them. Her garden was a vibrant tapestry of life, reflecting the beauty and passion she shared with Allan for so many years.

These interests were more than hobbies; they were extensions of Audrey's love for the world and her desire to create beauty within it. Audrey's life was a journey marked by courage, laughter, and friendship. She was a beacon of light to all who knew her, and her legacy will live on through the love she shared and the lives she touched. As we bid farewell to Audrey Ruth Lamont, we take comfort in knowing that she has found her place in the Lord's heavenly garden, where she continues to watch over us with the same love and grace that she embodied on earth.
