Ballet and Barbara Banks Team Up on Crossover Art

SARASOTA – Need a quick idea for a high-end Christmas gift for that art lover on your list? In a spirited collaboration between The Sarasota Ballet, Barbara Banks Photography and State of the Arts Gallery, nine portraits of Sarasota Ballet Company members are now available for purchase in downtown Sarasota. With 10 percent of all proceeds going directly to The Sarasota Ballet to help fund future programing and the Company’s education programs, these truly unique and beautiful images .

"This partnership launches these artist-athletes to new eyes, for the shared benefit of The Sarasota Ballet,” explains Banks. “The images show a dimension of dancers beyond performance, offering an opportunity to contemplate the perfection of stillness."

On exhibit through summer 2014, all nine images are available in varied sizes and range in price from $500 to $3,800. Featured in the images are: Principals Ricardo Graziano, Danielle Brown and Ricardo Rhodes; Soloists Ricki Bertoni, Ellen Overstreet and Juan Gil; Coryphee members Kristianne Kleine and Sareen Tchekmedyian.
