With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life well-lived, we share the passing of Barbara K. MacDonald, who went home to be with the Lord on January 20, 2025, in Tampa, Florida.

Barbara was a lifelong mentor, fulfilling her childhood dream of becoming a teacher. Her passion for nurturing young minds extended far beyond the classroom. She lovingly raised and guided her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and her influence reached even further, touching the lives of extended family, stepfamily, friends, and countless students whose lives were enriched by her wisdom, kindness, and warmth.

Barbara's heart was the center of every family gathering. She found joy in cooking delicious meals, celebrating special moments, and creating cherished memories with those she loved. Her nurturing spirit, gentle encouragement, and unwavering support will be dearly missed but forever remembered.

She is survived by her four beloved children: William Filipowski (and his wife, Robin), Leonard Filipowski (widowed), Wayne Filipowski (and his wife, Lupe), and Jylmarie Lewis (and her husband, Jordan); as well as her 12 treasured grandchildren and 15 adored great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love, compassion, and faith lives on in each of them.

Barbara's memory will forever remain in our hearts, and the love she gave so freely will continue to inspire us. Though we mourn her passing, we celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the countless lives she touched. Barbara's final resting place will be at Sarasota National Cemetery.
