Barbara R. Adamides, passed away on April 26, 2026, in Parrish, Florida, at the age of 87.

Born on November 21, 1938, in Lynn, Massachusetts, Barbara lived a life marked by quiet strength, steadfast faith, and deep devotion to the people she loved. She was a woman whose presence brought comfort, whose kindness was felt by many, and whose life reflected the grace and goodness of a Christian heart. Her family and friends will remember her as loving, generous, and faith-filled, a woman who gave of herself freely and who found joy in caring for others.

Barbara graduated from Miami High School and carried with her throughout life the values of diligence, responsibility, and humility. She worked as a phone operator and directory assistant with Southern Bell and GTE, where she served with patience and professionalism. Her work was a reflection of her dependable nature and her willingness to help others, and she was respected for the care and attention she brought to every task.

Above all else, Barbara cherished her family. She devoted her life to nurturing, supporting, and encouraging those closest to her. She found great meaning in the simple and sacred acts of caring for her loved ones, and she did so with a heart full of compassion. Her home was a place of warmth and love, and her family was blessed by her steady presence and unwavering devotion.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alexander E. Adamides. She is survived by her son, Dean Adamides, and his wife, Patricia; her daughter, Kathryn Polk, and her husband, Robert; and her daughter, Debra Balint, and her husband, Kenneth. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Amanda, Alexas, Evan, Stephanie (Peri), Alexander, and Monroe, as well as her great-grandchildren, Grayson, Molly and Emory. Her family was the center of her world, and her legacy will live on through the generations who were shaped by her love.

Barbara was a Christian, and her faith was an important part of her life. She trusted in the Lord and lived with the hope and assurance that comes from believing in His promises. Her life was a testimony to the quiet power of faith, prayer, and perseverance. She faced life with dignity and grace, and she remained anchored in the love of God through every season.

Those who knew Barbara will remember her gentle spirit, her kind heart, and the way she made others feel valued and cared for. She was a blessing to her family and to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was a beautiful example of devotion, service, and love lived out in daily action. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will remain a source of comfort and gratitude to those she leaves behind.

As her loved ones mourn her passing, they also give thanks for the long and meaningful life she lived. Barbara’s journey on earth has come to a peaceful close, and she now rests in the eternal care of her Savior. Her family finds peace in the promise of Scripture and in the hope of reunion in heaven. She will be remembered with love, honored with respect, and cherished always.
