Bradenton, Florida - Bartly "Mickey" Carr, 77, of Bradenton, Florida, entered into eternal life on June 21, 2024. Born on June 28, 1946, in Tacoma, Washington, Mickey was raised in East Meadow, New York and was a twenty-year resident of Bellmore, New York in a house he built for himself. He attended St. Mary's college in Kentucky, and also Iona College in New York. Mickey answered his country's call and joined the U.S. Army in March of 1968 and served until December 1969, serving in the Vietnam War. Shortly, after his separation from the military service, he joined the Nassau County, New York Police Department until his retirement as a detective after twenty plus years of service.

He is predeceased by mother, Margaret 'Peggy' (McCabe) Carr; father, Bartly M. Carr; sister, Catherine Tebbe; and niece, Kathleen Tebbe.

He is survived by his loving wife, Michele Carr; brother, Timothy Carr; nieces, Kimberly Pappas, Kolleen Shallies, Kelly Miller; nephew, Keith Tebbe, and lifelong friends of 60 years, Patrick "Pat" Maloney and Charles "Scoot" Shields and 15 years plus years friend, Paulie Wasserman.

Mickey loved Christmas year around and spent his retirement years in a Christmas Cabin which he built in Bradenton, Florida. Mickey loved to do carpentry. He also loved antiques and antiquing. Mickey enjoyed golfing with his friends and making people happy, laughing and having fun.

He will be greatly missed in the lives that he touched so deeply.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 9:30 AM, Friday, July 5, 2024, at Ss Peter & Paul the Apostles Catholic Church, 2850 75th Street West, Bradenton, FL 34209, with the Committal Service to follow at 1:30 PM, at Sarasota National Cemetery with Army Honors, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
