Benjamin David Ruch was born on September 9, 2025, in Tampa, Florida, and passed away peacefully in the arms of his parents on July 5, 2026, in Miami, Florida, after an extraordinary battle for life.

Benjamin entered the world at just 14 ounces, a tiny beginning that revealed a strength far greater than his size. From his very first breath, he faced unimaginable obstacles with unwavering determination. Throughout his nearly ten months of life, he endured countless procedures, surgeries, setbacks, and victories that most people could never imagine. Time and again, he defied expectations, overcoming challenge after challenge with a resilience that inspired everyone privileged enough to know his story. Though his body was small, his spirit was immeasurable. Benjamin became a symbol of courage, hope, and unconditional love, teaching those around him what true strength looks like.

Benjamin was deeply loved and cherished every single day of his life. He loved to be held close, talked to, and surrounded by the comforting voices of the people who loved him most. He found peace in having his head gently rubbed and his tiny hands massaged. He loved listening to his bear book on his Tonie Box, being wrapped tightly in his swaddle, rocking peacefully in his MamaRoo, and drifting to sleep knowing he was safe. Every moment of his life was filled with immeasurable love, and in his own quiet way, he always seemed to know just how deeply he was cherished.

Those who knew Benjamin will forever remember the incredible determination that carried him through every obstacle. He continually proved that statistics and expectations could never define him. He was the bravest little boy, with a fierce will to live that amazed his family and medical teams alike. Beneath his incredible strength was the sweetest little teddy bear—a baby whose gentle spirit, beautiful face, and quiet courage left an unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to love him.

Benjamin is lovingly survived by his father, Ryan Ruch; his mother, Lana Ruch; his big brother, Owen; his big sister, Charlotte; and his twin sister, Vivienne. He is also survived by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends whose lives were forever changed by his remarkable journey.

Though Benjamin’s life was far too short, it was immeasurably full. He taught resilience without speaking a word, courage without seeking recognition, and unconditional love simply by being himself. His life reminded everyone around him to treasure each day, celebrate every victory, and never underestimate the strength that can exist within even the tiniest soul.

Benjamin’s Celebration of Life will take place by the ocean—a place that held special meaning to his family long before they were able to take him there. Throughout his journey, he was told all about the ocean he lived close to with a promise to visit when he finally came home. That promise remained in their hearts every day. As Benjamin became sicker, his parents even covered his hospital bed with crib sheets that looked like a peaceful sandbar, dreaming of the day he would finally see the beach. Although that day came differently than they had hoped, Benjamin will be celebrated where the waves meet the shore, surrounded by the endless beauty of the ocean they always longed to share with him. Afterward, he will come home, where he will forever remain with the family who loves him beyond measure.

Benjamin David Ruch will always be remembered as a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, twin, and treasured little boy. Though his earthly journey lasted only a short time, his impact will echo for a lifetime. Like the endless ocean he was finally able to reach, the love his family carries for him has no shore, no ending, and no limits. He will be missed every day and loved forever.
