Bernd Pasler

Bernd Pasler (Bernie) aged 82 of Bradenton, FL passed away on May 18, 2024. Bernd was born in Kiel, Germany on December 8, 1941. He and his family immigrated to Toledo, Ohio in 1953. He graduated from Macomber High School and continued on to receive a BA from Toledo University. Captain Pasler served his country in Vietnam in the Army.

Bernd was married to Phyllis Graham Pasler on May 1, 1977; they were married 47 years. Bernd worked for a number of years for duPont in Wilmington, Delaware and in Isfahan, Iran helping to build a textile fibers plant there. After returning from Iran and staying in Wilmington for a while, he had an opportunity to purchase a manufacturing plant in Sarasota, FL building patio furniture. He was in the manufacturing and retail business for over 20 years. After retiring, Bernd had many hobbies including getting his pilot's license and flying all over the country and The Bahamas. Once he sold his Grumman Tiger plane, he took up hanggliding at Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, TN. Some other hobbies included scuba diving, sailing, hot air balloon and hiking in the NC and GA mountains. He loved kayaking from his backyard on the Braden River.

Bernd is survived by his wife Phyllis, sons Jeff, Greg and Daniel. Grandchildren Danielle (Dan), Nicholas (Amber) and Raymond (predeceased). Great grandchildren Elliott, Lydia, Harvey, Savannah, Ryan and Trenton. Nephews and nieces, Brent and Judi Cox, Tatum and Logan, Charmaine, Juli and Rich Vogel, Jessica, Alex and Jay. Bernd thought the world of his sisters in law, Ronni Taylor and Terea Shepard. Bernd is preceded in death by his beloved mother Hildegard Mayer, father Bruno, sisters Birgit and Beatrice and brother Rudy. Bernd always talked about what a great life he had. He will be deeply missed by his wife, family and friends.
