BRADENTON -- At The Manatee BOCC Land Use Meeting commissioners approved the North Manatee Recycling and Disposal Facility and Landfill -- to be located off Hyw SR 39 just south of the Hillsborough County line. The Board also approved a two sided 672 sq. Ft. electronic billboard sign East of I75 at the Ellenton Ice and Sports Sports Complex and approved a Comp Plan amendment that promotes the "Complete Streets" Program. BOCC rezoned 400 acre, for a 784 residential unit project for Rowe Ventures at 16410 CR 675. Thursday meeting was the first on the 2013 year and the first as Commissioner Larry Bustle as Chairman.

7. PA-13-01 - Proposed Ordinance 13-03 - Plan Amendment Complete Streets - Legislative - Kathleen Thompson-- Manatee County Complete Streets Program is designed to enable safe access to all users. A $40,000 grant from the American Public Health Association went to Nick Lepp with Renaissance Planning Group, to design multi-modal applications for assorted neighborhoods in Manatee County. Different areas require different design, and with a few dozen enthusiastic bicyclist in the chambers for support, Nick gave his presentation. -- Approved, Unanimous. (Story to follow)
