BRADENTON -- The Manatee County Commission will vote on an official logo for the county at today's board meeting. The county's current seal has doubled as a logo, appearing on county property, uniforms, letterhead, etc. The new logo would not replace the seal, but rather be used in instances where a logo were more appropriate. The county said that its use would be phased in as part of routine maintenance to avoid the cost of re-branding current property.
"We're not asking departments to incur additional costs by rebranding everything over night," explained Manatee County Information Outreach Manager Nick Azarra in an email. "As stated in the agenda, the new logo will replace the old as part of the routine replacement schedules for signage, uniforms, vehicles, etc."
As part of the ordinance, the county would also phase out an older seal that sometimes appears on county documents and property.
