BPD hosts first citywide National Night Out block party

Posted

The Bradenton Police Department hosted its first citywide National Night Out block party on October 7 — and it was a big success! National Night Out (NNO), a nationwide community policing initiative launched in the 1980s, is designed to strengthen the bond between neighbors and law enforcement while fostering a true sense of community.

For many years, Bradenton neighborhoods hosted individual NNO gatherings, which BPD officers proudly attended. While those events helped build strong neighborhood connections, one element was missing — the whole community.

This year, BPD took a new approach by hosting a single, citywide event that brought together residents, City departments, and community partners for an evening of fun, food, and connection. The turnout exceeded expectations, and we’re already looking forward to making next year’s event even bigger and better!
