BRADENTON – Sgt. John Negron and Officer Jeremy Telles will share the honors of BPD Officer of the Month for March 2014.
In late January, Sgt. Negron and Officer Telles were dispatched to a residence to help an unresponsive person. Upon arrival, they found a 95-year-old woman lying on the bedroom floor while a relative was attempting CPR.
Without hesitation, they began life-saving techniques in an attempt to resuscitate her. The woman had been in full cardiac arrest but came to and was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
Had it not been for the heroic actions of Sgt. Negron and Officer Telles, the woman would have passed away early that morning.
Sadly, she died a day later while under medical care, but the family was very grateful for the officers’ actions because it allowed them the opportunity to say goodbye.
Officer Telles and Sergeant Negron’s heroic actions speak highly of their commitment to providing dedicated police service to the citizens of Bradenton, and accordingly, they were named the police department’s Officer(s) of the Month for March 2014.
