BRADENTON – The Marauders (60-49, 25-15) held off a ninth inning rally by the Brevard County Manatees (55-48, 19-18) to win their third straight, winning 3-2 on Friday night at McKechnie Field. Tyler Glasnow (W, 8-5) pitched six scoreless innings, allowed two hits, and struck out five to earn the win.

The Marauders struck early against Austin Ross (L, 7-5). Jose Osuna singled with two outs to extend his hitting streak to 11 games. Jordan Steranka followed with a base hit to put two on, then Eric Wood drove in Osuna with a base knock. Justin Howard walked to load the bases, followed by a bases loaded walk to Jin-De Jhang to give the Marauders a 2-0 lead. Osuna added a sacrifice fly in the second to extend the lead to 3-0.

Ryan Hafner pitched two scoreless innings, striking out two with men in scoring position in the seventh. Josh Smith allowed two runs in the ninth, but struck out Orlando Arcia to end the game with a man at second.

The Marauders and Manatees play game two of the series Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Jason Creasy pitches for the Marauders, while Tyler Wagner will toss for the Manatees.
