The Marauders (29-28) blanked the Threshers (12-44) on three hits to win Monday’s game at Bright House Field 5-0. All five Bradenton runs scored in a six-hit second inning against Clearwater starter Colin Kleven (L, 1-7).

Max Moroff drove the first pitch of the second inning to left field for a lead-off double. The next pitch was drilled down the first base line by Eric Wood for an RBI-double that gave Bradenton the first run of the game. Jacob Stallings singled to put men on the corners. Taylor Lewis followed with a base hit to left that cashed in Wood, before being erased at second base when Raul Fortunato batted into a fielder’s choice. Adam Frazier’s walk loaded the bases in front of Walker Gourley’s two-run single to double the lead to 4-0. Josh Bell’s RBI-double capped the scoring at 5-0.

Tyler Glasnow (W, 2-3) had a strong encore performance to his 12 strikeout gem his last time out. The righty held the Threshers scoreless over five innings while striking out four batters and walking four. Clearwater managed just two hits against Glasnow.

Pittsburgh Pirates right-handed pitcher Stolmy Pimentel began his Major League rehab assignment with the Marauders on Monday. Pimentel pitched two scoreless innings, striking out two and walking one.

Pat Ludwig and Josh Smith each added a scoreless inning of relief to finish the game. Gourley extended his hitting streak to nine games with his hit in the second inning. Josh Bell finished the night 3-for-4 with a walk.

The series finale is Tuesday night at 7:00 in Clearwater. Bradenton sends Chad Kuhl to the mound against Clearwater’s Jeb Stefan. The game will be broadcast online at www.BradentonMarauders.com.
