BRADENTON – The Marauders (66-53, 31-19) dug out of a 4-0 deficit on Monday night at Tradition Field to defeat the St. Lucie Mets (64-51, 24-23) 5-4. The game was delayed for more than two hours in the bottom of the third inning by rain. The win is the Marauders’ 25th one run win of the season. Bradenton leads the South Division by one game over the Palm Beach Cardinals.

St. Lucie plated four runs in the bottom of the third inning against the combination of starter John Kuchno and reliever Pat Ludwig (W, 3-3). Kuchno surrendered a two-run double to L.J. Mazzilli immediately prior to the delay. Ludwig surrendered a two-out, two-run double to Jared King to give the Mets a 4-0 lead, but settled in hold St. Lucie off the board in innings four through seven.

Tim Peterson (L, 2-1) took over on the mound after the delay. The Marauders had managed only one hit over three innings against rehabber Daisuke Matsuzaka, but quickly took the bats to Peterson for a game-tying rally. Jacob Stallings smashed a three-run double to clear the bases with two outs, then scored himself on Justin Maffei’s double that brought Bradenton to even at 4-4.

Stallings and Maffei were central parts of the game-winning rally in the seventh. Stallings doubled off the top of the wall to start the inning against Peterson. Maffei singled to put men on the corners for the top of the order. Adam Frazier smacked a fly ball to left field, bringing in Stallings on the sacrifice fly and putting Bradenton up 5-4.

Jhondaniel Medina and Yhonathan Barrios (S, 6) set down the last six Mets in order. The Marauders are 8-7 against the Mets this season and won two of the three series played at Tradition Field.

The Marauders travel to Jupiter for a three game series beginning Tuesday night at 6:35 p.m. Tyler Glasnow, who was named Florida State League Pitcher of the Week on Monday, will start for Bradenton. The game will be broadcast online at www.BradentonMarauders.com.
