Bradenton Blues Festival has been Permanently Canceled

Posted

BRADENTON — After more than a decade of sold out events, the Bradenton Blues Festival has been permanently canceled by Realize Bradenton, the non-profit founded in 2010 to implement the City of Bradenton's 2009 Cultural Master Plan.

"Following the 2023 festival, we conducted a thorough analysis of the event. With thoughtful consideration to the mission and goals, we have made the decision to discontinue the Blues Festival in 2024,” said Andrea Knies, communications director for the organization.

In a statement, Knies said the organization hopes to organize an event that will replace the blues festival, which took place in early winter at the Riverwalk Pavilion at Rossi Park.

"We are exploring options for a new event and are excited about the possibilities of bringing people together in new and different ways."

Too many tolerant, progressive, fun people gathering in the same place year after year, making Bradenton look like it actually has half a brain for organizing the Blues Festival? What is Realize Bradenton afraid of?
