BRADENTON – At Wednesday's meeting, the Bradenton City Council approved an amendment request to allow a major residential project on 26th Avenue East to begin development. In other business, plans for the Power Boat Regatta at the Riverwalk were approved.

a. Request to use Forfeiture Funds to buy surveillance, covert recording/monitoring and other equipment.
b. Request to use Forfeiture Funds to buy ballistic shields for SWAT Team.
c. Request to use Forfeiture Funds to buy ballistic helmets for SWAT Team.
d. Street Closure: Request to close 10th Street West in front of museum for Snooty’s birthday on Saturday, July 19.
e. Street Closure: 13th Street West from 4th-Manatee avenues for First Baptist Church Day of Hope event on Saturday, Aug. 9.
f. Public Event: Manatee Glens’ Walk for Life from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 27. The walkers will start in Palmetto, visit downtown Bradenton, and then return to Palmetto.
g. Public Event: St. Joseph’s 5K Eagle Classic on Nov. 15 along the waterfront.
h. Public Event: Jingle Bell Run/Walk on Friday, Dec. 12, on and around Old Main Street area.
