BRADENTON - At Wednesday's meeting, the Bradenton City Council approved a three-year pay-increase contract for BPD rank-and-file officers that finalized after a long period of negotiations between the city and the Florida Police Benevolent Assocation union. In other business, ordinances that will allow for development of a land parcel to the east of the proposed Wa-Wa station on SR 64 East were approved; and the council discussed at length the impending expansion of the county's One Stop Homeless Shelter in the middle of the city's entertainment district, which they agreed had troubling implications.
