Bradenton Comedian Earns Shot to Open for Comedy Legend

Posted

BRADENTON – Bradenton's own Tim “The Dairy Farmer” Moffett will open for comedy legend Gilbert Gottfried at Seminole Casino Immokalee on Saturday, March 1. Moffett earned the gig after winning this year’s Comedian’s Ball a three-part comedy contest that began on January 22 and featured top comedians competing for a $10,000 grand prize and the chance to open for Gottfried at the casino.

Moffett, 44, competed against more than 20 of the nation’s top comedians. He was born and raised on a dairy farm in Bradenton and has been performing stand-up comedy for more than 10 years. Moffett said he was very nervous throughout the competition.

“I’m always nervous until I get the first laugh,” he said. “My competitors were fierce, and I didn’t expect to win, but it feels great to be the first Comedian’s Ball winner.”

The Dairy Farmer incorporates his experiences on the farm into his routines. From comparing his first date to his first snipe hunt, to showing up for his driving test on a John Deere, his unique style landed him a once-in-a lifetime opportunity.

“I remember watching Gilbert on Saturday Night Live. He was always so funny. I’m also a big fan of the movie Aladdin,” Moffett said. “I’m very excited about opening for such a well-known and respected comedian.”

Naples comedian Max Mosquito will Emcee the event. Additionally, proceeds from beer sales will be donated to Edge of Southwest Florida, a nonprofit youth leadership organization based in Fort Myers.

Tickets may be purchased at the casino or charge by phone: 800-218-0007. The casino’s Event Pavilion doors will open at 7:30 p.m. for the 8:00 show.
