Bradenton Detective Named Officer of the Year

BRADENTON -- Detective John Morningstar of the Bradenton Police Department has been named the 2013-14 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year by the Bradenton Elks Lodge #1511.

In November, Detective Morningstar had been the primary officer investigating the recording of a battery that was posted online. He immediately located the victim, provided him with assistance, then obtained information which led to the identification of all three suspects involved.

With assistance from Detective Greg Price, one suspect was identified and arrested. Within 18 hours of the initial incident, the remaining two suspects turned themselves in. All three were charged with felony Aggravated Abuse of a Disabled Adult.
