Bradenton Police Department to Launch Neighborhood Watch-like Program for Businesses

BRADENTON – The Bradenton Police Department has unveiled a new programs aimed at reducing crime on against local businesses. “The Chain” is similar to a neighborhood watch, only it targets businesses, linking them together to increase awareness of crimes that may affect them.

BPD says that by reporting suspicious activity to police and making neighboring businesses aware, it sends a strong message to criminals that businesses are binding together to thwart criminal behavior.

When the program is active, BPD says that criminals will learn that businesses are linked together and with the police department, keeping their plaza, street or business center safe as criminals look for easier targets.
