Bradenton Police Department to Offer Free Basic Firearms Course

The Bradenton Police Department is offering a free basic firearms course to City of Bradenton residents on June 29 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The class, which includes classroom instruction and live-range exercises, will be taught by certified firearms instructors with extensive experience in law enforcement marksmanship.

The course will cover concealed carry statutes, firearms safety, range safety, and fundamental shooting techniques, among other topics. Firearms, ammunition, and targets will be provided. Eye and hearing protection will also be provided; however, students may bring their own.

Participants must be U.S. citizens and at least 21 years old. A background check is required. Space is limited, and additional courses may be added in the future. Registration information is available at this link.
