BRADENTON – The Marauders (40-36, 5-2) routed the Jupiter Hammerheads (28-48, 1-6) 11-0 on Wednesday night at McKechnie Field. Orlando Castro (W, 5-4) started a shutout defeat of Jupiter for the third time this year, delivering a season-high seven innings while allowing just three hits. He struck out four and did not walk a batter.

Bradenton jumped on Jupiter starter Scott Lyman (L, 3-7) early, plating four runs in the second inning. Eric Wood walked, advanced to second on Jin-De Jhang’s ground out, went to third on an infield hit by Taylor Lewis, and scored on a solid single to right by Raul Fortunato. Adam Frazier reached on an error that allowed Lewis to score. Max Moroff capped the big inning with a triple off the wall in right to score Fortunato and Frazier and put Bradenton on top 4-0.

Jordan Steranka led off the third inning with a home run, his third of the season, to extend the lead to 5-0. The Marauders added one run in the fifth, three in the sixth, and two in the seventh. The 11 runs matched Bradenton’s season high for the second time in three games.
