BRADENTON – Called by some the possible “dark horse” in the American Idol series, Braden River senior Sam Woolf not only made it into the final 5 in last week's episode, but he seemed to finally hit his stride, leaving the strongest impression on the Idol judges.

Woolf performed It's Time by Imagine Dragons and Shania's Twain’s You're Still the One, and was praised for his improved stage presence and connection with fans -- two areas that judges had previously been critical of.

The Michigan native who moved to Bradenton from North Port before his sophomore year and has played small local venues like the Old Main Street Farmer's Market, will be looking to advance to the final four contestants Wednesday night.

His fans, often referred to as the Woolf Pack, can now track his success with a free new Woolf Pack app. Also, Motorworks Brewing in Bradenton will be hosting an American Idol viewing party each week, starting tomorrow night, so that local fans can gather to cheer on Sam.
