Brush Fire Burns over 100 Acres at Lake Manatee

MANATEE COUNTY — A brush fire broke out Thursday at Lake Manatee Park. Over 100 acres burned as firefighters fought the fire for several hours.

The fire was reported around 3:30 p.m. and was said to burn for approximately five hours. Firefighters said the blaze was 95% contained by Friday morning.

The cause of the fire is unknown. The area will continue to be monitored for hot spots.
