Business and government: The week ahead

It's another busy week for government, though there is no formal County Commission meeting this week.

Palmetto City Commission

The Palmetto City Commission has a worksession at 4:30 p.m. Monday, and a meeting at 7 p.m. that will also include a meeting of the Palmetto Community Redevelopment Agecny. The meetings will be in the City Commission chambers at City Hall, 516 Eighth Ave. W., Palmetto.

Manatee County Port Authority

The Port Authority gets together from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday in Room 502 at the Administrative Center, 1112 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. It's a strategic planning session.

Bradenton City Council

The Bradenton City Council meets at 8:30 a.m. at Bradenton City Hall, 101 Old Main St., Bradenton.

Other government meetings

• The Value Adjustment Board Special Magistrate meets on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Fountain Conference Room at the Judicial Center.

• The Enterprise Zone Development Agency meets from 9:30 a.m. to noon Monday at the Manatee County Extension Service, Hailey Room, 1303 17th St. W., Palmetto.

• The Longboat Key Town Commission meets at 7 p.m. Monday in Longboat Key Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road, Longboat Key.

• The Palmetto CRA Advisory Board meets at 5:30 p.m. at Palmetto City Hall, 516 Eighth Ave. W., Palmetto.

• The Health Care Access Task Force meets from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Fifth Floor Manatee Room at the county Administrative Center.

• The Code Enforcement Board meets from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the County Commission chambers.

• The Construction Trades Board meets from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Wednesday in the County Commission chambers.

• The Manatee County Planning Commission meets from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday in the County Commission chambers.

• The Bradenton Downtown Development Authority Public Art Advisory Board meets at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the DDA conference room at 101 Old Main St., Bradenton.

• The Planning Task Force meets from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday in the Fifth Floor Manatee Room at the county Administrative Center.

• The Bradenton Central Community Redevelopment Agency meets at 5 p.m. Thursday in Bradenton City Hall, 101 Old Main St., Bradenton.

• The Manatee County Law Library meeting is from 10:30 a.m. to noon in room 1002 in the Manatee County Judicial Center.

Business

The Economic Development Center will be holding its Excellence in Industry Awards Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at the Polo Grill, 10670 Boardwalk Loop, Lakewood Ranch.
