Business and government: The week ahead

Several government bodies will be having meetings this week.

Manatee County Port Authority

There will be a meeting at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Port Authority member Joe McClash and Port Authority Chairman Larry Bustle in the conference room on the ninth floor of the County Administrative Center, 1112 Manatee Ave. W. They will discuss the port's financial plan, the encouragement zone and other port-related issues. The Port Authority will also meet at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Port Manatee Intermodal Center, 1905 Intermodal Circle, Palmetto.

Other governmental bodies have meetings this week:

• The Value Adjustment Board Special Magistrate will meet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the Fountain Conference Room at the Manatee County Administrative Center, 1112 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.

• The Bradenton Code Enforcement Board will meet at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 101 Old Main St., Bradenton.

• The South County Community Redevelopment Agency will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Harllee Full Service Family Center, 6423 Ninth St. E., Bradenton.

• The Anna Maria Planning and Zoning Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 10005 Gulf Drive in Anna Maria.

• The Bradenton Planning Commission will meet from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Bradenton City Hall, 101 Old Main St., Bradenton.

• The Children's Services Advisory Board will meet at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Suite 502 at the County Administrative Building.

• The Bradenton Beach City Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at City Hall, 107 Gulf Drive N., Bradenton Beach.

• The Longboat Key Town Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road.

• The Palmetto Planning and Zoning Board will meet at 6:15 p.m. at City Hall, 516 Eighth Ave. W., Palmetto.

• The Bradenton Central Community Redevelopment Agency joint committee meeting will meet at 8 a.m. Thursday at the Central CRA conference room, 302 Manatee Ave. E., Suite 301.

A demonstration of Windows 7 will take place at the ComCenter of Lakewood Ranch, 9040 Town Center Parkway, Lakewood Ranch, starting at 7:45 a.m. Learn about Windows 7 with the Latin Chamber of Commerce, and be eligible for prizes.
