Business and government: The week ahead

It's a short week with the Presidents Day holiday, but there are some meetings.

Palmetto City Commission

Monday may be a holiday, but the City Commission is meeting for a workshop at 4:30 p.m. and the regular meeting at 7 p.m. Items on the agenda include a public hearing on an ordinance to amend the school element of the Comprehensive Plan, resolutions on intersection improvements at 10th Street West and 10th Avenue West and 10th Street West at 14th Avenue West, Charter Review, and a resolution to establish a budget for an additional 11-hour-per-week administrative position in code enforcement. The workshop and meeting are at Palmetto City Hall, 516 Eighth Ave. W., Palmetto.

Manatee County Commission

The County Commission will hold a worksession at 4 p.m. Thursday in Parrish with the community at the Parrish Community Center, 7006 122nd Ave. E. in Parrish. The session will start with a tour of Parrish and continue at the community center at 6 p.m. with several items on the agenda.

Manatee County Port Authority

The Port Authority will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Port Manatee Intermodal Center, 1905 Intermodal Circle, Palmetto.

• The city of Bradenton Code Enforcement Board will meet at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

• The South County Community Redevelopment Agency will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Harllee Full Service Family Center, 6423 Ninth St. E., Bradenton.

• The city of Bradenton Planning Commission will meet at 1:30 p.m. for a workshop and at 2 p.m. for a meeting on Wednesday.

• The Bradenton Central Community Redevelopment Agency Joint Committee meeting will at 8 a.m. Thursday at the Bradenton CCRA, 302 Manatee Ave. E., Suite 301, Bradenton.

• The Children's Services Advisory Board will meet at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Manatee County Administrative Center, 1112 Manatee Ave. W., Suite 502, Bradenton.

• The Bradenton Beach City Commission will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at City Hall, 107 Gulf Drive N., Bradenton Beach.

• The Longboat Town Commission will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday at Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road, Longboat Key.

• The Palmetto Planning and Zoning Board will meet at 6:15 p.m. Thursday at Palmetto City Hall.
