Calvin Anderson's Game-Winning Hit Pushes Marauders Past Miracle

Posted

BRADENTON -- Noah Krol came on in the ninth, again taking over a tied game. The closer, who's been struggling just a bit as of late, gave up a homer to his first batter, then a triple, and was looking at another possible loss until the Marauder bats came alive in the bottom half of the inning.

Anderson Chourio singled then Robbie Grossman walked. An Eric Fryer single brought Chourio home and a single by Calvin Anderson closed the show, as the Marauders beat the Ft. Myers Miracle 7-6 yesterday at McKechnie. Anderson went 3 for 5 on the day.

Krol gets the win to go to 4-5. Eric Fryer caught a good game and went 2-4 with two RBI, working in place of injured catcher Tony Sanchez, who is recovering from a broken jaw after being hit by a pitch last Tuesday night. The two teams play at McKechnie again tonight, before heading down to Ft. Myers to finish the series.
