BRADENTON -- High pressure across the northern Gulf today will retreat into the western Atlantic during Thursday and Friday. A weak and disorganized tropical wave is expected to move into South Florida later today and into the central Gulf of Mexico tonight through Thursday. This will bring increasing rain chances and slightly higher winds and seas. Conditions will return to quiet weather with high pressure in control during Saturday and Sunday.

Thursday

East winds around 10 knots. Bay and inland waters a light chop. Scattered thunderstorms. Thursday night will bring southeast winds around 10 knots. Bay and inland waters a light chop. Scattered thunderstorms in the evening, then isolated thunderstorms after midnight.

Friday

Southwest winds around 10 knots. Bay and inland waters a light chop. Scattered thunderstorms. Friday night will bring southwest winds around 10 knots. Bay and inland waters a light chop. There will be scattered thunderstorms in the evening.

Saturday

Southwest winds around 10 knots. Bay and inland waters a light chop. Isolated thunderstorms in the morning, then scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. Saturday night will bring south winds around 5 knots. Bay and inland waters smooth. There will be isolated thunderstorms in the evening.

Sunday

West winds around 10 knots. Bay and inland waters a light chop. There will be isolated thunderstorms in the morning, then scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon.
