BRADENTON -- High levels of moisture will allow the development of numerous showers and thunderstorms across the area through Friday. The surface ridge over South Florida will shift north for the weekend. Winds and seas are expected to be generally light but gusty winds may accompany thunderstorms. A sea breeze is expected to develop near the coast each afternoon.

Thursday

Southwest winds around 10 knots. Bay and inland waters a light chop. Numerous thunderstorms. Thursday night will bring southwest winds around 5 knots becoming southeast around 5 knots overnight. Bay and inland waters smooth. Scattered thunderstorms in the evening, then isolated thunderstorms after midnight.

Friday

East winds around 5 knots. Bay and inland waters smooth. Scattered thunderstorms. Friday Night will bring east winds around 5 knots. Bay and inland waters smooth. There will be isolated thunderstorms in the evening.

Saturday

East winds around 5 knots becoming northeast around 5 knots late in the morning, then becoming variable less than 5 knots in the afternoon becoming northwest around 5 knots late in the afternoon. Bay and inland waters smooth. There will be isolated thunderstorms in the morning, then scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. Saturday Night will bring north winds around 5 knots becoming east after midnight. Bay and inland waters smooth. There will be isolated thunderstorms in the evening.

Sunday

Southeast winds around 5 knots. Bay and inland waters smooth. Isolated thunderstorms in the morning, then scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. Sunday night will bring wind a variable less than 5 knots becoming southeast around 5 knots overnight. Bay and inland waters smooth. There will be isolated thunderstorms in the evening.
