Carl Paul Kohorst passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Palmetto, FL on December 26, 2022, at the age of 74.
Survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Dort (Ulm) Kohorst. He was the loving father of 2 children: Jodie Watson (Rick Wunderley) of Findlay, OH. Melissa (Dave) Knepper of Delphos, OH.
Carl was born onJanuary 22, 1948, the son of Richard "Cotton" & Florence (Baer) Kohorst / Delmer Kohorst. Carl was the brother of: Edy (Tom) Carder, Dick (Glenda) Kohorst (deceased), Delmer (Sue) Kohorst, Judy (Jim) Hammons, Becky (Tim) Mericle, Darrell Kohorst.
Carl was the grandfather of 4 grandchildren: Jamie & Jace Watson, Samantha & Katelyn Knepper.
Carl worked at Fruehauf Corp in Delphos, OH for 38 years. He worked at GFS and Delphos Visiting Nurses. He especially enjoyed his time caring for one of his patients at DVN and became good friends with him.
Carl's greatest love was his wife, his daughters and his grandchildren. He was an avid woodworker and he and Dort enjoyed attending flea markets together. He enjoyed taking photos at local high school sporting events and weddings. He enjoyed fishing and also attending sprint car races with his brothers, son-in-law and special group of racing friends.
After relocating from Delphos, OH to Palmetto, FL, Carl took up shuffleboarding and liked to ride his bike around the mobile community and visit friends and neighbors and watch sunsets with his wife.
A gathering is to be held at Trinity United Methodist Family Life Center on Ambrose Dr in Delphos, OH on January 8th from 3:00-5:00, service at 5:00 with a meal following, all family and friends are welcome.
