Carlisle "Doc" Spivey, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, kindness, wisdom, and cherished memories.
Born in Selma, Alabama, on July 6, 1950, Doc moved to Bradenton at a young age. Bradenton became his home, and he graduated from Manatee High School in 1968. He was the beloved younger brother of Joseph Spivey Ill.
Doc was a man who believed in hard work and dedication. He spent 40 years working for GTE, which later became part of Verizon, before retiring. His commitment to his work was just one reflection of the dependable and hardworking man he was.
But above all, Doc was a family man. He was a loving husband to his wife, Linda Spivey, and a devoted father to his daughters Jessica and Savanna and bonus daughter, Michelle. He was also a proud grandfather to his many grandchildren, who brought tremendous joy to his life.
Doc will be remembered for his loving and kind heart and for the advice he so freely gave. He had a way of offering wisdom when it was needed most, and his words and guidance will continue to live on through the people he loved.
He had a special love for his grandchildren and treasured the time he spent with them. Doc loved taking pictures, especially photographs of his grandchildren and beautiful sunsets. He had an appreciation for the simple, beautiful moments in life and made sure to capture them so they could become lasting memories.
Doc is now reunited in Heaven with his oldest daughter, Jessica. We find comfort in knowing that they are together again, watching over the family they loved so deeply.
Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we are grateful for every moment we were blessed to have with him. His life touched many people, and his love will continue through his children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
Anyone that knows Doc and would like to come celebrate his life is more than welcome to come.
