Palmetto, Florida - Passed away at the age of 84 on September 18, 2024.
She was born on July 13, 1940, in Century, WV, to Charles Ezra Haddix and Flo Godwin Haddix.
Carolene was a caring wife to her much loved husband, Arnold Elliot Johnson, who preceded her in death in 2002. She is survived by her children Kimberly (Rich) Lincicome, Cheryl Salapack, & Elliot (Nicole) Johnson, 2 granddaughters, Jessica and Alysha, 3 grandsons, Greg, Chris, and Mason, 2 great grandsons, Liam and Jaden, 1 great granddaughter, Skylar, and many, many nieces and nephews.
The youngest daughter and last surviving member in a family of 10 children, Carolene shared a strong bond with her siblings that brought her joy and many wonderful memories. In her early years, Carolene attended Grafton High School in Taylor County WV and was a proud member of the Class of '58.
Arnold and Carolene settled in Canton Ohio for many years and in1982, they moved to Palmetto Florida. A dedicated mother, master gardener and a talented cook, who loved hosting holiday get-togethers for her family and friends, Carolene's spirit will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Services held at Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park in Ellenton, Florida on Sept 24th, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Carolene's name to the Tidewell Foundation.
