Bradenton, Florida - Catherine, "Kay" Lanza (Ravenscroft) passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024 in Bradenton, Florida. She was born on February 20, 1927 in Wareham, Massachusetts, the daughter of James and Lena Ravenscroft (Bumpus) and was predeceased by her husband, Velino Lanza, and her son: Steve Lanza, and Grandson: Justin Lakin, and her siblings: Bradford Ravenscroft and Florence St. Germaine.
She is survived by her son: Val Lanza and daughter-in-law Susan Lanza, and her daughter Jo Anne Lanza and son-in-law John Lakin. She was the proud Grandmother of six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Catherine graduated from Wareham, Massachusetts High School in 1945 and attended New England Home for Crippled Children in Newton, Massachusetts until 1947.
She was married to Velino Lanza in 1948 and raised her family and lived most of her adult life in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. Following retirement she lived in North Andover, Massachusetts while spending winters in Florida. Later she made Country Village, Bradenton, Florida her full time residence.
Catherine enjoyed sewing, crafts, bicycle riding and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
