CCRA Invites Public to Meet Minnie L. Rogers Plaza Developer

Posted

BRADENTON -- On Thursday, the developer team for the recently-approved Minnie L. Rogers Plaza project will appear before the City of Bradenton Central Community Redevelopment Agency Board and be introduced to the community. The Developer and CCRA staff anticipate to have the property permit ready and to begin construction of the 6,808 square feet of retail space and urban format Save-A-Lot grocery store by the end of this calendar year.

The CCRA invites the community to attend the next CCRA Board meeting to meet the developer team and hear all about the next steps to develop the project, located at 201 13th Avenue West, Bradenton. The group selected as developer for the project is a team led by Endeavour Corp. of Milwaukee, and includes the Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa, Inc. (CDC of Tampa).

On August 13, the CCRA received City Council approval for the Retail Center Development and Acquisition Agreement. This approval was based on a unanimous vote coming from the CCRA Board on July 24. Approval of the agreement will allow the CCRA to move forward with the development of the project, which will eliminate an existing Food Desert by providing residents access to healthy foods, while creating needed jobs for the community.

The mmeting will be at the CCRA Board's regularly scheduled meeting time at 5:00 pm on Thursday, August 28 in the City Council Chambers, 101 Old Main Street, Bradenton.
