Thanks to HME Ahrens-Fox, this February, two new mini pumpers will be added to BFD’s Stations #2 and #3. These new mini pumpers replace outdated fire engines, have 300-gallon tank capacities, and have 1500-gallon-per-minute (GPM) pumps.
Benefits include savings of over $600,000.00 per apparatus vs. a standard fire engine, reduced repair costs, extended vehicle life, and easier access to citizens in limited or confined spaces. Speaking of Station #2, construction is on schedule with an anticipated completion date of July 2025.
Looking ahead, we’re excited about a busy and vibrant event season. Mark your calendars for the Founders Cup Block Party on February 2, 2025, kicking off the LPGA tournament’s return to Bradenton; the Pittsburgh Pirates Block Party on February 15; the Bradenton Area River Regatta on February 22; and, of course, Spring Training with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Be sure to check the City calendar—there’s always something to enjoy.
As we enter the season of increased traffic, we encourage everyone to plan for longer commutes, stay safe, and always remember we are the “Friendly City!”
