Chapple Hill, Tennessee - Cindy Jean Nix, 65, of Chapel Hill Tennessee passed away on January 25, 2024. Cindy was born in Charleston, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Lucille A Hoag and Hugh Kent Brunson. Her early years were spent in Newport News Virginia where she was exposed to military life, sandy beaches, and all things nautical. She continued her education at Manatee Junior College and transferred to Florida State University majoring in English and Literature. Cindy settled in Carrollton Texas far from the beaches and the sea. She had a career in teaching English and literature to middle school students. She received a Master degree in literature from Texas Woman's University. She then added on line and in class teaching at the Junior College level. She had many true friends and was well respected by her students and fellow teachers.
Cindy raised a son Geoffrey and was deeply involved with a grandson Skiler, Justin Texas. Cindy's infectious smile and a strong attention to detail will be missed by her family, friends, and students.
Cindy is survived by her dad Kent Brunson, a step mother Shirley Oberlin and her brother David and his wife Cindy Brunson all from Bradenton FL and a life long best friend Cathy Taylor from Carrollton Texas.
