City and County Offices Closed for Labor Day

BRADENTON – All City offices are closed for Labor Day. In the city of Bradenton, household garbage that’s normally collected on Monday will instead get collected Tuesday, Sept. 2. Garbage normally collected on Tuesday will get picked up on Wednesday, Sept. 3. Yard waste will be collected on Thursday, Sept. 4. The holiday will not affect recycling collection for city residents. Their garbage collection schedule will also return to normal the following week.

Manatee County Government offices will also be closed. Trash, recycling and yard waste collections for the week will be postponed one day from Tuesday through Saturday for residents in unincorporated Manatee.


The Anna Maria Island Trolley will operate normal daily routes and the Manatee Avenue Beach Express will operate on holiday schedule.  Manatee County Area Transit operations will be suspended for the day.

Manatee County parks and beaches will be open to the public.  Manatee County and Buffalo Creek Golf Courses will be open.  G.T. Bray Recreation Center facilities will be closed on Monday, Sept. 1.  Blackstone Skate Park and G.T. Bray Skate Park will be open.

Central Library, the only county library normally open on Mondays, will be closed.

Manatee County’s publicly owned natural preserves will remain open.
