We’re now in the “dog days” of summer, generally considered the hottest time of year, from July 3 through August 11. No matter what you have planned, pack your patience and plenty of liquids!
By now, kids and grandkids have probably reached that point in the summer when boredom starts to set in. Fortunately, there are numerous opportunities to keep them going and growing.
All branches of the Manatee County Public Library System offer programs for all ages. Information is available at www.mymanatee.org/library-
The Herrig Center for Arts, located in downtown Bradenton, offers KidsArt summer programs for children ages 4 through 15. There is a fee, but scholarships are still available. Learn more at www.herrigcenter.org
The School District of Manatee County Food and Nutrition Department provides free meals to children 18 and younger. To find the location nearest you, visit www.manateeschools.net. Locations within the City include Rossi Park, Bradenton Village Apartments, and Ward Temple Church.
