City of Palmetto Commission Meeting Agenda Results 7/22/2013

BRADENTON – At Monday's City of Palmetto Commission meeting, members voted to schedule a proposed date to consider raising the Aggregate Millage rate. The proposal is to raise the rate to 5.7171. Commissioners also voted to move forward on amending the city's 2030 "Comprehensive Plan". The discussion on options will start with a workshop.

Action Request: Motion to approve a proposed aggregate millage rate of $5.7171 mills and to schedule a 1st Public Hearing on September 16, 2013 (tentative budget hearing) and a 2nd Public Hearing on September 23, 2013 (final budget hearing) for FY 2013-2014. -- Approved, Unanimous  (Story to come)

7.  PUBLIC HEARING READ ORDINANCE 2013-10  MEETING REQUIRMENTS FOR CITY COMMISSION (M. Barnebey)

 Police Chief Rick Wells --It's been a good summer. Two new officers and two more in training.

12.  DEPARTMENT HEADS’ COMMENTS -- CRA, Jeff Burton -- We looked at moving one of the small provisions to another place, in the park. 

13.  MAYOR’S REPORT -- Shirley Grover Bryant -- There was a MPO meeting today, and they talked about the 301/41 corridor; the proposed review date is Sept 23.
