City of Palmetto Hosts Free Hurricane Workshop Thursday

PALMETTO -- A hurricane awareness workshop will be held tomorrow at Palmetto City Hall, 516 8th Avenue West, Palmetto. The workshop will take place in the commission chambers, beginning at 7 p.m.

Don Hermey, Emergency Management Officer, Manatee County Emergency Management will discuss hurricane preparation, post hurricane evacuation re-entry, and how to leave your business property when ordered to evacuate.

Hurricane season began June 1 and runs through November 30. Now is the time to prepare and educate yourself on what can be done to minimize challenges. All residents and business owners are invited to attend.
