MANATEE COUNTY – This Thursday, Manatee County Government’s 2nd annual Carols in the Courtyard will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the courtyard of the recently-renovated Historic Courthouse at 1115 Manatee Ave. West in downtown Bradenton. The event, which benefits the United Way of Manatee County, will include many different caroling groups, a craft sale and even a visit from Santa!

“Manatee County Government is so excited to host this community event,” said Tina Neri, the event organizer. “What better way to get into the holiday spirit than to listen to carols being sung by some amazing local talent. We're always so proud to support United Way of Manatee County and we're hoping to see the community come out on Thursday and join in on the fun.”

Santa is expected to make an appearance at 11 a.m. Former NFL Super Bowl Champion Henry Lawrence, fresh of his performance at the Bradenton Blues Festival, will also be performing. Kiwanis of West Bradenton will sell three lunch choices: cheeseburger, chips and a drink for $5; hamburger, chips and a drink for $4; or a hot dog, chips and a drink for $3. Others will be on hand selling holiday crafts. Manatee County Animal Services will bring several animals available for adoption. There will also be a basket raffle. Get in the spirit of giving and join the fun!
