BRADENTON -- On Monday, the Manatee County Veterans Council hosted its annual Memorial Day service, which was open to the public at Veterans Park, on the Manatee River, behind the Manatee Memorial Hospital. The service started at 9 a.m. and the large crowd in attendance wasaddressed by Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-Longboat Key) and Jessica McVay, Commandant, Marine Corps League Detachment 588.
