Community Spotlight: Anderson Race Park to Open "Advanced Karting School

Posted

PALMETTO – Andersen RacePark is offering two great opportunities for adolescents and teenagers to learn important skills during their Summer Camps.

Located at 10101 US Highway 41 in Palmetto, Andersen has a deep history of training and nurturing future IndyCar stars in the junior ranks such as Graham Rahal, J.R. Hildebrand and Tristan Vautier.

The Introduction to Karting Camp takes place on Tuesday June 18th and Wednesday June 19th. The Advanced Camp for slightly more experienced drivers is on Tuesday July 16th and Wednesday July 17th.

Open to 12-17* year olds, each camp includes two days of professional instruction. The camp offers warm up sessions, on-track sessions with instructors, classroom feedback, data and video analysis, and mock race events. Campers will drive Birel N35 9hp Honda Go-Karts that reach speeds of up to 50 mph.

Jonny Baker is the lead instructor, and as a former race car driver himself, he has developed the camps to not only be fun, but to give youngsters a true insight into what it takes to be a professional race car driver.

For more information about the camps, get in touch with Jonny at 941-723-3900 extension 306. For more information about Anderson RacePark, visit www.andersenracepark.com.
