BRADENTON – Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County is one of 21 community organizations to receive a grant from State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota for participating in 2014 MLK Day of Service. To honor Martin Luther King, Jr., Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County will provide breakfast for community children and their families at the Palmetto Boys & Girls Club on Monday, January 20th.
In addition, the first 300 school-age children will each receive a backpack containing school supplies. The event will take place from 8 AM to 10 AM at the Palmetto Boys & Girls Club located at 1600 10th Street West in Palmetto. Entertainment will also be provided. Each child must be present to receive a backpack and supplies.
Open the door and take a tour of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County. The Clubs serve over 6,000 young people at seven locations (Daughtrey Elementary School, Orange Ridge-Bullock Elementary School, Harllee Middle School, Lincoln Memorial Middle School, Southeast High School and the DeSoto and Palmetto Clubs).
