Community Spotlight: Community Haven for Adults and Children with Disabilities Announces Award

SARASOTA – Community Haven for Adults and Children with Disabilities, Inc. is proud to announce that the Florida ARF Award Committee has selected Brad Jones as the recipient of the Michael Goodman Award. Mr. Jones will be recognized for his achievements in promoting the independence and greater quality of life for Floridians with disabilities at the 2013 Florida ARF & RESPECT of Florida Annual Awards Luncheon (September 18th, at the Marriott Suites Clearwater Beach on Sand Key).

The Michael Goodman Award is an annual award voted on by the Florida Association of Rehabilitation Facilities. It is given to one company leader in recognition of outstanding and significant contributions to serving Floridians with disabilities.

As Director of Adult Services since August 2011, Brad Jones has been instrumental in expanding the Haven Industries Program from 75 adult clients to over 125 in the last year. Contracts with companies seeking light assembly work has also doubled from six companies to over twelve in the same time period. Under Mr. Jones's direction, a new group home known as "Jacquelyn's House" is now complete, adding to the other three group homes which will now accommodate a total of 33 adult residents on Community Haven's serene 32-acre campus. Other campus-based cottage industries such as the Heavenly Haven Bakery & Catering, Haven Landscaping Services and Chair Caning are also thriving under Mr. Jones's leadership.
