Community Spotlight: HOPE Family Services Receives Donation

BRADENTON – HOPE Family Services (HOPE) recently received a generous donation of $1,800.00 from Deborah and Vernie Pickhardt of Pickhardt’s Professional Services in Parrish, FL. On hand to receive the check was Twila Averill, Board President and Laurel Lynch, Executive Director. Each year the Pickhardts host a Christmas party at their home to benefit domestic violence survivors who reside in HOPE’s Emergency Safe shelter.

HOPE also provides a 24-hour Helpline, individual and group counseling for adults and children, advocacy, safety planning and community education. Last year over 372 victims, including children stayed at the shelter. For more information please visit www.HOPEFamilyService.org or call 941-747-8499.

HOPE has been Manatee County’s domestic violence service provider since 1979 and each year serves an average of 2,000 local individuals affected by domestic violence. All of HOPE’s services are confidential and offered to those who need help at no charge.
